TAMPA, FLORIDA (CW44 News At 10) – A Florida man found guilty of possession of ammunition, falsification of witnesses, and obstruction of justice as a convicted man.

Sergio Antonio Hood, 36, faces 10 years in prison for possession of ammunition and obstruction of justice, and up to 20 years for falsifying witnesses. The hearing date set for Hood will take place on September 9, 2021.

Hood was arrested on December 10, 2020 last year. While incarcerated, Hood has two federal convictions for possession of ammunition and three for distributing controlled substances. Also, Hood is a sex offender for assaulting a minor.

According to the evidence revealed during the trial, he appeared at his home near the city of Ybor after he met and started a relationship with a woman on October 27, 2019. Hood found the woman in the car with a friend and pointed his rifle into the car and fired at the woman. The bullet missed the woman and came out from the other side of the car. The next day, Hood was arrested for assault.

Hood was released on federal probation, but was transferred to federal custody for violating the terms of his release. While in prison, Hood made false excuses and demanded a false statement from a witness.
