A Florida man hit the woman with a cup and tried to get her out of the car, police said.

CAPE CORAL, FLORIDA – A Florida man threw a cup at another car in a traffic accident, the Cape Coral Police Department said in a statement. The cup hit a woman in the passenger seat and tried to pull her out of the car.

According to the police department’s statement, 40-year-old Christopher Nelson Velez recklessly passed another car during a word-and-finger argument in Punta Gorda on Wednesday morning, and the two continued to drive in the same direction. The controversy was announced after Velez threw a protein shaker glass towards the other car and smashed the glass into a woman sitting in the passenger seat.

Although Velez tried to block the car of the person he was arguing with and enter the parking lot, the two cars drove in different directions. Authorities said Velez got out of his vehicle and tried to pull the woman sitting in the other vehicle out the window of the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle tried to stop Velez. Then the other passengers in the car got off and started hitting him. After an investigation, Velez’s vehicle was found at a gas station in 7-Eleven in the afternoon.

Velez faced throwing a deadly object, theft by battery, and aggravated assault.
