Florida Man Birthday July 8
An alligator found in a Florida man’s vehicle helped find the drugs.
A Florida man was detained by officers last week for possession of a live alligator and illegal drugs in his vehicle.
According to the Hardee County Sheriff’s Office, on Thursday, July 4, sheriff’s deputies were making a traffic stop at State Road 64 and Pioneer Park Area in Zolfo Springs. Officers found drugs on Anthony Richardson. In addition, Richardson told officers that a live alligator was found in the vehicle.
Officers found the live crocodile with its mouth taped in the bag.
Richardson said the alligator was his friend and said he didn’t have a hunting or trapping license. He also said that he would go to a nearby river and release the crocodile into nature.
Richardson was registered with Hardee County Jail after possession of drugs and illegally catching alligator. According to a statement by Florida wildlife officials, the alligator was said to have been released into the Peace River.
