Florida man accused of attacking doctor and nurse using his glass eye
The incident took place in Largo, Pinellas County. A Florida man used a glass eye to attack a doctor and a nurse. By throwing the glass eye at the doctor and nurse, the man committed an act of violence against healthcare workers. He was then taken to the police station by the police and sent to jail with a certain amount of bail.
Edward Michael Dorsey, 54, was arrested by the police on Sunday morning. The reason for his arrest was that he made a domestic battery. The cops took Dorsey to Largo Medical Center for a checkup. Dorsey took out his glass eye and threw it at a doctor and then a nurse.
Dorsey faced additional charges following this violent act he committed in the emergency room. The doctor and nurse at the hospital asked Dorsey not to take off the glass eye he was using. Dorsey, on the other hand, shouted, “I’ll do whatever I want,” and pulled it out and threw it at the healthcare workers.
A battery to healthcare workers was added to the charges against Dorsey, sent by the police to the Pinellas County Jail. As the number of charges increased with the local battery, so did the amount of bail he had to pay to be released.
Sent to Pinellas County Jail, Dorsey will have to pay $25,000 and an additional $5,000 to be released on bail. While calculating the bail, $25,000 was determined for the domestic battery and the other $5,000 was determined for the glass eye battery. It is unknown whether Dorsey has a defense attorney.
