Florida man charged with violence-related battery and child abuse

The incident took place in Crestview, Florida. A Florida man rolled a woman and a teen down the wooden stairs. Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office officials announced that the man had been detained for violence-related battery and child abuse.

According to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, Herman Newton was arrested on October 7 after an altercation in Canary Way. Even though the cause of the controversy is unknown, Newton faced very serious charges.

The woman who was pushed down the stairs by Newton gave the sheriff’s office various information about the incident. According to the information given by the female victim, Newton tried to strangle her by grabbing her throat and then pulled the teen lying in his bed and lowered him to the ground.

After being knocked down from her bed, the teen tried to defend the woman with the blade of a lawnmower. However, while doing this, he unintentionally cut his hand. As the argument escalated further, Newton pushed the woman and the teen down from the wooden stairs.

There were no serious injuries to the victim woman and teen. The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office found a pipe during a search of the man’s home. Samples taken from the pipe were sent for examination. After the examinations, it was determined that there was methamphetamine in the pipe.
