A Florida man has been accused of posing as a teenager and asking them to send explicit pictures of young girls.

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FLORIDA – A man from Palm Beach gardens said he pretended to be a teenager when underage girls sent him explicit photos, prosecutors said on Friday. The man later pleaded guilty to child pornography charges.

The US Florida Southern District Attorney’s Office announced in 2008 that 45-year-old Dwight Castaldi had contacted 13-year-old girls. Prosecutors said he was pretending to be a teenager and posting a photo of a teenager to girls.

According to the prosecutors’ statement, Castaldi was saying he would have a special relationship with any girl and was trying to persuade them to send in their obscene photos.

A search warrant was issued at Castaldi’s home in 2018, according to a news release. A device was found in Castaldi’s home that contained several child abuse videos, photos and communication records.

Castaldi pleaded guilty to producing, distributing and possessing child pornography in court.

Castaldi will face a minimum sentence of 15 years and a maximum sentence of life imprisonment. The sentencing hearing will be held on September 20.

Castaldi was previously sentenced to three years in prison for seducing a 13-year-old girl online.
