ORLANDO (CBSMiami/AP) – A man claiming to have coronavirus was caught stealing and spat at a police officer.
According to the Orlando police report, 26-year-old Christopher Abad was arrested at 7-Eleven in Orlando for theft, assault and assault on law enforcement. Abad attacked a police officer by spitting on him during his arrest. After Abad was taken to the police station, he spat at a police officer and tried to spit on other police officers.
Abad threatened to attack a store employee who turned against him while he was stealing.
It is not known whether Abad, who claims to have a coronavirus, was tested for the coronavirus after he was arrested.
Abad is being held on $3600 bail.
Earlier this month, a 31-year-old man named Jamal Curry coughed into the arm of a police officer charged with domestic violence, claiming he had the Coronavirus. Federal prosecutors accused the man of committing a biological weapons hoax.
