A Florida man found a way to procure drugs. Bradleigh Carter, 32, sent methamphetamine to his home by mail. When the synthetic substance he sent was noticed, an investigation was opened against him. After the investigation was completed, he was sent to federal prison.

According to the information provided by the Department of Justice, Carter was investigated by the prosecution for different crimes. The United States Attorney’s Office investigated on behalf of the Middle District of Florida. As a result of extensive research, it was decided that Carter was a felony.

Investigators stated that Carter had been previously convicted for many reasons. According to investigators, Carter attempted to send drugs through the United States Postal Service. Carter wanted to do this by using the priority mail service. Carter tried to send a kilo of methamphetamine to his home.

Investigators searched Carter’s home. They found methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine. In addition to drugs, several firearms were found. Charges such as drug distribution and possession of firearms for drug trafficking were included in the file created against Carter.

Investigators demanded that Carter surrender all the drugs and weapons in his possession. The United States Postal Inspection Service, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office were involved in the investigation. Carter was sentenced by the court to 22.5 years in prison and sent to federal prison.
