Florida Man Birthday September 11
A Florida man beat up and then spat at an old man who asked him to social distancing
This interesting event took place in Florida’s Winter Park region. According to information provided by the Winter Park Police Department, an elderly man politely warned a man who was not practicing social distancing. However, the man, who disliked being warned, first beat the old man, kicked him in the head, and then spat on him.
The 70-year-old victim was at the Citgo gas station in the Orange Avenue area around 7:40 PM. Meanwhile, a man approached him and the man was ignoring the social distance rules. The old man warned the person whose name was learned to be Rovester Ingram because he was not wearing a mask and asked him to maintain social distance.
Then Rovester Ingram and the old man began to argue. Later, the old man wanted to leave with the products he had bought from the market at the gas station. Just then, Rovester Ingram punched the old man in the face. The old man desperately wanted to enter the market again.
Rovester Ingram continued to follow him, although the old man fled towards the market. Rovester Ingram started punching the old man again, pushing him to the ground and kicking him. Then he grabbed the old man by the hair and dragged him towards the parking lot.
According to the affidavit taken by the police, Rovester Ingram had repeatedly punched the old man in the head, spat at him, while the victim was lying on the ground on his stomach. When the police arrived on the scene, broken bones were found in the health check of the old man, who said he had been “beaten very badly”.
When the police arrived on the scene, Rovester Ingram had already left. But surveillance footage from the Citgo gas station was more than enough to identify the man. After the man was identified, the police took action and succeeded in catching Rovester Ingram.
Rovester Ingram admitted to hitting the old man in the face in his statement to the police. However, he stated that during this time, the old man was acting “crazy” and “extremely aggressive”. Rovester Ingram, 24, was arrested on charges of aggravated assault and kidnapping.
