around with a wounded owl.

take this thing we found and eat it”.

In the video footage, loud music plays and the man behind the wheel is holding the bird.
Alcohol bottles are seen on the center console of the vehicle.

Fisheries and Wildlife Commission’s spokesperson Liz Barraco stated that the US Fish and
Wildlife Service has initiated an investigation into the incident. However, he did not provide
any information on whether the two men would be interviewed and whether they would be

Palm Beach County Conservation and Animal Control Captain Dave Walesky reported the
video to the state agency and said he received an email from the Florida Animal Control

The great horned owl is a protected species. The government agency therefore agreed to
take charge of the incident and reported the owl to Bush Sanctuary.

Authorities contacted a person who appeared in the video. The people in the footage said
they left the owl the next day. The men said they had never touched the owl and let it go.

Authorities are focusing on the possibility that the owl was injured by a car crash. Kite said
she was saddened to learn that the injured owl was still there and needed help. “We come
across these animals often, and there is no one to blame,” said Kite. However, this event is
