A Florida man stole the reporter’s car and crashed into a North Caroline police cruiser.
A man who stole the reporter’s car this weekend was in a chase with North Carolina cops. The man collided with the police cruiser.
According to the television station’s statement, a 19-year-old Florida man named Marcus Brown stole the car of a reporter from WRAL on Saturday. Brown, one of four on the run from police in rural Pittsboro, offered money to drive him to a gas station.
Reporter Keenan Willard said, “We said you couldn’t come with us because they were the news unit and didn’t have an ID, what we said was an excuse for him to get away from us.”
Continuing, Willard said, “He looked convinced and started to walk away. He then approached my vehicle and got into the front seat onto Highway 64. He suddenly accelerated with the vehicle.”
Noticing the situation, a policeman started chasing him, and Brown began a second chase. WRAL collided with a police cruiser 5 minutes later.
Employees at the television station knew there was a high-speed chase with the police. One of four people from Jacksonville Florida was Brown. When the cops tried to stop them, they were told that their speed was 94 mph while the speed limit was 65 mph on the road they were on.
The four people were apprehended on Saturday and Sunday after a chase with the police. The criminals caused a huge police activity in the region.
Brown was charged with stealing cars, evade police and possession of weapons of mass destruction, according to the television station’s statement. The report included the information that 24-year-old Adrian Lovery, 19-year-old Caleb Sheffield and another unidentified person were arrested.
