Florida Man Birthday August 20

Acting on a notice, sheriff’s deputies arrested a Florida man who was trying to perform castration surgery at home.

HIGHLANDS COUNTY, FLORIDA – Florida deputies have arrested a Highlands County resident, according to a report by WTFS. The reason for the man’s arrest was that he tried to perform a castration operation at his home.

Upon a notice to the sheriff’s office on Sunday, deputies arrived at the home of 74-year-old Gary van Ryswyk, just off Orday Road in Sebring. Ryswyk was there when the sheriff’s deputies arrived on the scene. He told a deputy sheriff that he tried to castrate a man but ran into big problems.

Sheriff’s deputies searching the house found the man Ryswyk had tried to castrate in bed, covered in heavy blood. The man had a towel over his groin, again heavily stained with blood. An ambulance was called immediately and the man was taken to a nearby hospital. Later, it was reported that the condition of the injured man was good.

Sheriff’s deputies, investigating the home, found two body parts in a pink container belonging to the hospitalized man. Ryswyk created a room in his home that resembled a surgical center, containing medical equipment and painkillers. There was also a camera in the room to record surgeries.

Ryswyk, who told the sheriff’s deputies the details of the incident, said that he met the man he tried to castrate on a dark web site that was established for people with a castration fetish. He also stated that the surgery would normally be done last week, but he had to postpone the surgery for various reasons.

Ryswyk told the man he was trying to castrate that he had experience with animals and had one of his testicles removed in 2021, according to the sheriff’s deputies. The man in the hospital was adamant that the procedures continue.

This was not the first castration surgery performed by Ryswyk. He testified that he similarly castrated a man at a motel a few years ago. That man didn’t end well, either, according to the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office. Ryswyk, who was arrested on Monday, was charged with the second-degree crime of practicing medicine without a license that resulted in bodily injury. A bail of $250,000 has also been set for him.
