A Florida man suspected of killing a couple caught while biting the victim’s face.

Sheriff’s deputies from the Martin County Sheriff’s Office stumbled upon the unbelievable incident Monday during a patrol in Tequesta. 19-year-old Austin Harrouff was leaning over a man with various hemorrhages on his body and trying to tear his face off with his teeth.

According to information from the Miami Herald, sheriff’s deputies had a hard time keeping Harrouff away from the man. A Florida State University student Harrouff was determined not to stray from the body of John Stevens III, who was later identified.

Then the deputy sheriffs had to use stun guns and a police dog. However, the efforts of the deputy sheriffs were not enough. Then they pulled the abnormally strong Harrouff away from the man on the ground while he was grunting and making animal-like noises.

Martin County Sheriff William Synder said that after investigating the area, they found Michelle Mischon Stevens, who was stabbed to death in the garage near the scene of the incident. There was a situation in the garage where her husband was apparently getting into a fight with Harrouff, indicating an enormous amount of violence.

According to the Miami Herald, Harrouff did not know the Stevens couple beforehand. The attack had taken place completely for no reason and at random. Authorities think Harrouff is hallucinating. Also, a man who was near the scene at the time, who was stabbed while trying to break up the fight, was also hospitalized.

According to the Miami Herald, Harrouff was hanging out with his family at a local bar. He was here with some of his brothers to visit his hometown of Tequesta. After a while, he got angry and wanted to go out. According to the Palm Beach Post, Harrouff is currently under sedation at a Palm Beach County hospital.
