A Florida man is accused of stealing an ambulance and putting it in the mud
HERNANDO COUNTY, FLORIDA – A man who stole the ambulance of the paramedics who was treating the patient got stuck in the mud, according to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office statement.
According to the records, the Hernando County Fire & Emergency Services ambulance was parked in the ambulance area of Oak Hill Hospital around 12:30 on Sunday.
When the paramedics returned to the ambulance, they realized that the ambulance had been stolen. Trey Cornwell, 29, was behind the wheel of the ambulance, officials said.
Cornwell of Weeki Wachee is accused of moving the ambulance as far as Port Court in Spring Hill, 8 miles away. He stuck the ambulance in the mud at Port Court.
Cornwell leaves the mud-stricken ambulance and drives away from the area. Cornwell is charged with vehicle theft.
